What is Assured Login?

Assured Login protects your personal account information using a security certificate system that stores a digital snapshot of the computers you use on our site to protect you against fraudulent account activity.

Is there a fee?

No; this extra protection is a free service for you!

Why is there a new login process?

Access Group’s certificate-based data protection is becoming a standard feature of online banking and we’re bringing it to student lending. Security is a top priority for everyone at Access Group. For more information, please view our Privacy Policy.

Who has to go through the new login process?

All borrowers who already use or want to use My Account to manage their loans online (i.e., check loan statuses or e-sign an application) will be required to register through the new login process. All financial aid administrators with online accounts must also complete the Assured Login process.

How does Assured Login work?

My Account Users
When registering for an account or, when trying to access an already existing account, you will be asked to sign up for the Assured Login security process. You will be prompted to provide answers to challenge questions during enrollment. Meanwhile, we take and store a digital snapshot of the computer you are using. In the future this snapshot and your challenge questions may be used to positively identify you.

Financial Aid Administrators
When registering for an online account or eAccess, or, when trying to access an already existing account, you will be asked to sign up for the Assured Login security process. You will be prompted to provide answers to challenge questions during enrollment. Meanwhile, we take and store a digital snapshot of the computer you are using. In the future this snapshot and your challenge questions may be used to positively identify you.

What is a digital snapshot?

Digital snapshot refers to the data collected by the security system of our Web site. The digital snapshot stores information such as the operating system and version, the browser type and version, the IP address, and the region of the country from which you connect, to build a profile that is used to verify your identity when you return to our Web site. No personal or private information is collected.

Each time you visit, we look to see if the current profile matches your last profile. If it does, your User ID and password are accepted. If it doesn't, you will have to provide an answer to one or more challenge questions to help us positively identify you. The digital snapshot is just one way Access Group protects your sensitive information.

Can I login from multiple computers?

Yes. In the future, when you return to our site and we identify your computer as the one used during registration, you will only be required to provide your User ID and password. If you are at a different computer, you may be required to answer one to five of the challenge questions to verify your identity. The number of questions asked will depend on how different the computer profile is, as well as the geographic location.

Will my password change?

If your password doesn't contain at least 8 characters including a minimum of 1 number or special character and both upper and lower case, you will be prompted to change it to meet these new, more secure requirements. Retrieve your forgotten password here.

What is my User ID?

For My Account users, Social Security numbers will no longer be accepted as User IDs. And, for financial aid administrators, DOE codes will no longer be accepted as User IDs. You will be required to upgrade to an individual User ID that is at least 6 characters. Retrieve your forgotten User ID here.

The User ID you choose cannot be changed, so please choose carefully!

Why do I have a security question and challenge questions?

Your security question is used to help you remember a forgotten User ID or password. The Assured Login challenge questions are used to help verify your identity and protect your account against fraudulent account activity.

How do I change my security and challenge questions?

My Account users can change their password hint question or challenge questions from the "My Profile" tab in My Account. Financial aid administrators can change their password hint question or challenge questions from the "Edit My Info" tab of the Administer Users section of eAccess.

How do I sign up?

For those who already have signed up for My Account or eAccess, you will automatically be prompted to register for Assured Login.

If you are new to AccessGroup.Org and are a student, you can register for My Account and Assured Login here. If you are a school and would like to register, please contact your Account Executive at 800-227-2151.
